knowmind runs on servers in Germany (Nuremberg). You get a data processing agreement under Article 28 GDPR, an access log, and self-service deletion and export. As a processor we provide the contractual and technical building blocks; the responsibility for your processing stays with you as the controller. Your stored content does not leave the EU. If you connect a US AI model with your own key, that model's processing happens at that provider; you control this step, and we disclose it transparently. For consultancies, law firms and regulated teams that work with sensitive material, the storage location is what counts.

knowmind speaks the Model Context Protocol (MCP). You connect it to Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor and other clients with a single line: npx -y knowmind mcp. From then on, every connected tool reads and writes the same memory.

The knowmind command-line client is open source under Apache 2.0 and free on npm. The platform behind it runs as a managed service, so you never have to set up, secure or update anything yourself. You pay for operation and compliance, not for a license.
