knowmind vs. Supermemory
Supermemory and knowmind both offer a hosted memory that your AI tools connect to, with a free entry point and a paid tier under $20/€20. The differences show up in what a stored fact carries and where the service runs.
What Supermemory offers
The $0 tier includes roughly $5 of usage; Pro is $19 per month, with Max at $100 and Scale at $399. Self-hosting is available from the Scale tier upward. If you want to get going quickly, with usage included in the free tier and paid tiers from $19 to $399, Supermemory is an easy start.
What knowmind offers
knowmind has flat pricing — Pro at €15 per month or €150 per year, free tier with 2,500 memories — and attaches audit data to every fact: provenance, a required confidence level, and a bitemporal history that keeps superseded statements queryable with their validity dates. Access logs are hash-chained and externally timestamped (RFC 3161). The service is operated in Germany on Hetzner (Nuremberg), with a public Art. 28 data processing agreement, a published subprocessor list, and tenant isolation. Self-hosting is not offered below the Enterprise on-premise option (from €1,000 per month).
How to choose
Pick Supermemory if the free usage allowance covers what you need and self-hosting at the top tier matters to you. Pick knowmind if your buyers or auditors ask where the data lives and who processes it — the answer here is a German data centre and a DPA you can read before signing up — and if you need every fact to carry its history rather than just its content. On the first paid tier the prices are close (€15 against $19); the audit trail and the EU operating model are where the products part ways.
